kstars-data-extra-tycho2 software package provides Tycho-2 star catalog for KStars, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install kstars-data-extra-tycho2
kstars-data-extra-tycho2 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the kstars-data-extra-tycho2 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep kstars-data-extra-tycho2 *
You will get with kstars-data-extra-tycho2 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
